يعد ظهور المكتبات ببلاد الغرب الإسلامي دليل هام على تلك المكانة الراقية التي كانت تمثلها هذه المؤسسة العلمية الهامة لدى الطبقة الحاكمة والمجتمع معا في مختلف أرجاء البلاد، نظرا لدورها البارز في دفع عجلة الحركة الثقافية والمحافظة عليها، وهو ما توقفنا عليه تلك الإسهامات الجيدة في مكتبات القيروان وتيهرت وتلمسان وقرطبة، لذا تم جلب مختلف المؤلفات، بغرض تعزيز رصيدها المعرفي تحت إشراف أهل الاختصاص، وبرعاية من الأمراء الذين كانوا على دراية واهتمام كبيرين بالعلماء ومؤلفاتهم، الأمر الذي أدى إلى ظهور ذلك الكم الكبير من الكتب في مختلف العلوم التي زينت رفوف المكتبات، نافست باقي مكتبات حواضر البلاد الإسلامية في العصر الوسيط The emergence of libraries in the countries of the Islamic West is an important evidence of the high status that this important scientific institution represented among the ruling class and society in various parts of the country, due to its leading role in the advancement and preservation of cultural heritage movement. This is what led us to the good contributions in the libraries of Kairouan, Tahert, Tlemcen and Cordoba, which is why various works were brought, with the aim of strengthening their stock of knowledge, under the direction of specialists and with the sponsorship of very competent princes interested in scholars and their writings. Which led to the emergence of a large number of books in various sciences that decorated the shelves of libraries, It rivaled the rest of the libraries of Islamic countries in the Middle Ages..
