This work aims to shed light on part of the history of European colonialism in Africa, especially the oldest colonization of the African continent, Portuguese colonialism, which we have rarely seen studies on the type of this colonialism. Angola is considered one of the Portuguese colonies in Africa, along the lines of Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, the Cape Verde Islands, Sao Tome and Principe, which suffered from colonialism and its practices. Like other African countries, Angola knew a national political movement that contributed to directing the crystallization of the intellectual and political awareness of the Angolan people. At the forefront of these political parties was the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola in 1956. In a short time, it was able to carry out its work as a political party demanding independence from Portuguese colonialism, and confronted the colonial authorities. The Portuguese demanded these killings and arrests, which prompted the movement to turn towards armed action in 1961. It was the most popular movement despite the multi-ethnicity. In the face of its armed resistance and its victories, it made Portugal sit at the table of independence negotiations in 1975.
