Abstract

Research on the problematic of tolerance in contemporary Arab thought is an inevitable necessity by the reality of these societies that are steeped in denominational and sectarian conflicts. However, in spite of the religious content of these conflicts, they hold political aims. Therefore, this problematic can only be studied through the religion- politics relationship. Thus, determining this relationship, which was and still vague in these societies, would establish a thought that advocates tolerance.
