Intervention by deletion and its textual effects- A case study in the edition of Al-Nafha Al-Muskiyyah by Al-Suwaidi

Abstract

The methodological choices and decisions made by the manuscripts editor have effects on the edited text, either at the level of its production or at the level of its reading. The more the editor interferes in the text with any type of change, the more serious the results will be. In this article, we want to study the results of the interference by deleting part of the text on its understanding and interpretation, through the model of the edition of Imad Abdul Salam Raouf on the book Al-Nafha Al-Miskiyya fi Al-Rihlah Al-Makkiyya by Abdullah Al-Suwaidi.
