A Theoretical Approach To Spoken Discourse Markers

Abstract

تؤدي علامات الخطاب في اللغة الإنجلیزیة المنطوقة وظیفة هامة في المحادثة . لقد كانت موضوع البحث في مجموعة من الدراسا ت التي تركز على الناطقین باللغة الإنجلیزیة الأصليين منهم والأجانب، كما أنها حظیت بالعدید من التسمیات ومختلف التعاریف من قبل الكثیر من الباحثین. لذلك، سوف یختص هذاالبحث في النظر في بعض جوانب قواعد المحادثة والمتمثلة في علامات الخطاب و سيتطرق على وجه الخصوص الى مختلف المفاهيم المتصلة بها وخصائصها، بالاضافة الى الوظائف المسندة لها. Abstract Discourse markers of spoken English such as you know, I mean, well, see, so, and, but and many others perform animportant role in conversation. They have been the subject of investigation in a host of studies focusing on native and non- native speakers of English and have been assigned a multitude of terminologies and diverse definitions by various researchers. Therefore, this article will highlight the definitions allotted to discourse makers , their properties as well as their functions.
