Abstract

t This article deals with the different procedures to transfer the cultural factor from English to Arabic, despite the differences that lie between them, either syntactic or semantic ones. Hence, the reader will find out how to implement some well known theories on translation into Arabic, and the ways to use the suggested procedures focusing on literary translation, because of the importance of the cultural factor in this kind of translation. This research relies on a various theoretical background, such as the semantic and communicative theory of Peter Newmark (1988), the System theory (Munday, 2001), and the SKOPOS theory (Vermeer, 2004).
