Abstract

عرفت الدولة العثمانية منذ نهاية القرن السادس عشر وحتى سقوطها سنة 1924 محاولات للإصلاح بدأت بإصلاحات تقليدية حاول خلالها المصلحون إصلاح وتقوية الدولة العثمانية وإعادة النظام إلى أصله دون المساس به، لكن سرعان ما بدأ التأثر بالغرب منذ بداية القرن الثامن عشر حيث بدأ دخول المؤثرات الغربية بشكل بطيء وتدريجي ليصل ذروته مع التنظيمات الخيرية التي استبدلت النظم والقوانين العثمانية القديمة بنظم وقوانين مقتبسة عن الغرب، ثم جاء السلطان عبد الحميد الثاني في أواخر القرن التاسع عشر لينتهج سياسة الجامعة الإسلامية إلى أن أطاح به الإتحاديون سنة 1909. The Ottoman Empire witnessed attempts at reform from the end of the sixteenth century until its fall in 1924. These attempts began with traditional reforms, during which reformers sought to reform and strengthen the Ottoman Empire and restore the system to its original form without compromising it. However, Western influences soon began to creep in from the beginning of the eighteenth century, with Western influences slowly and gradually entering the country, culminating in the charitable organizations that replaced the old Ottoman systems and laws with systems and laws borrowed from the West. Sultan Abdul Hamid II then came in the late nineteenth century and adopted a policy of pan-Islamic unity until he was overthrown by the Unionists in 1909.
