Abstract

Imagination is the only mental ability that the principle of reality cannot restrict its freedom and exploit for the benefit of the existing situation. For this reason, imagination has a very important place in Islamic philosophy. The original value of imagination is not related to the past alone, but includes the future as well, because the forms of freedom and happiness that it invoke tend to Liberation of historical reality In their refusal to accept the rejected challenges to freedom and happiness as final things by the principle of reality, and in their refusal to forget what could be, lies the critical function of imagination casts on its subject the darkness of nothingness, and no matter how vivid the imaginary images are, they carry within them a denial of real existence.
