L’immagine dell’Altro nel racconto In Viaggio con Erodoto di Ryszard Kapuścińsk

Abstract

After working as journalist in Polish Press Agency (PAP), Ryszard Kapuściński had the opportunity to travel in different countries around the world. It was his first experience outside the Soviet Bloc. The story, whose title (Traveling with Herodotus), is inspired by Herodotus’ Stories shows the encounter with the other as well as in the work of the Greek historian. The image of the other is represented in different ways by the Polish journalist, since he had traveled to different countries meeting various peoples and cultures. The present article aims to analyze the representation of the image of the other in Ryszard Kapuścińskis story in “viaggio con Erodoto” (2005)
