Abstract:
This research aims to demonstrate the notion and meaning of the word « Ostora » (Myth) as a significance for historical tales that have been distorted by fabricating further over exaggerated fictional characteristics in order to symbolize and beautify. It is also a reference to the (Arabic) linguistic meaning of the word Ostora which is related to the verb Satara (to line) as an act of the predecessors, according to the Quranic expression, let that act be a chronicle or a fiction relevant with god(s) and human being. However, this former meaning opposes the prevalent notion of Ostora as a religious fable.
