The problem of civilization is the most prominent topic addressed by the Algerian thinker, Malik bin Nabi (1905 - 1973 AD) in his various works, it is the discourse that he sees as the sound basis for overcoming underdevelopment in Arab Islamic societies, but it has made civilization a moral orientation away from the philosophical foundation, in this context This article aims to consider the contribution of this thinker to a new reading of the nature of the relationship between civilization and ethics, and this is based on the main question of the extent to which ethics relates to civilization renaissance. Therefore, the importance of this study is determined by two points:
First, it showed that the moral foundation of civilization represented a realistic social view.
Second: It highlights the value of the civilized idea in the space of contemporary Arab thought. In this study, I tried to adopt both the analytical approach and the comparative approach, and from this the researcher reached at the end of the article a set of results, the most important of which is that ethics occupies a central position in the thinking of Malik bin Nabi, and it is a realistic vision and a critical spirit. |
