Abstract: Socio-cultural determinants of success in the baccalaureate exam in the Algerian education system. The baccalaureate exam represents a knowledge case of socio cultural nature that is of interest to the whole community asit offers a qualitative shift to the individual intellectually, socially and economically. It is the result of a scientific effort that culminates with the success of the individual,his family, and his school, and thus the whole system. This emphasizes the close relationship between the success of the certificates of education and the development that contributesto the achievement of a sound citizenship of the individual and helps in developing hisabilities and his society, according to the findings of the various global reports of Education. Achieving success in the baccalaureate demonstrates the success of the educational systems in the completion of the elementary and secondary education of its members, and thus their social integration, which has become the biggest success of communities in integrating their children and provide for them. In fact, the educational system in Algeriahas given importance to this certificate since the first baccalaureate accomplished in the Algerian school in 1963. From this point ,we are trying to interpret and analyze the situation of the baccalaureate exam in the Algerian society through a cultural and socio-historical reading of the exam basing our study on the results of success since the sixties until the third millennium.
