Abstract:
The evolution in the narrative discourse of the experience of the novelist Abdelaziz Baraka Sakin: "water ash" as a case study This study rises from the assumption that the Sudanese novelist Abdelaziz Baraka Sakin sets up in the recent “Water Ash” a dramatic change in the Sudanese novel course in terms of vision and form. Moreover his techniques and strategies in narration belong to the experience of the modern generation of Arab novelists. This generation came out after the generation of the sixties which has established firm narration foundations for the novel. This has enabled the Arabic novel to enter a new era in order to respond to the new awareness and the enormous changes in the Arabic awareness construction at the level of community, thought and art. Thus, the “Water Ash” novel is only one example of this technical experience which is rich with these modern artistic techniques. The objective of this study is to go through this novel in a critical and analytical way which clearly identifies the new technical and creative factors that differ from the traditional narrative style. The study also attempts to uncover the nature of the modern narrative discourse that goes with the reality in a totally different way from the traditional narrative method used by the former generation.
