Position of Mohamed Ben Abdelkrim and Allal Al-Fasi from Aix-les-Bains negotiations (August 1955). In summer 1955, there were important historical negotiations between the French authority at Aix-les-Bains (Paris), and a number of the National Movement parties at Morocco, the results of which led to the restoration of the independence of Morocco and to the return of the King Mohamed fifth to the throne. The results of these negotiations had risen opposition of the activist personalities in the Moroccan National Movement, inside and outside Morocco, among these personalities the two great leaders, Emir Abdelkrim, the leader of the Rif’s rebellion, and Allal Al-Fasi, the leader of the Independence Party. This latter leader has taken part in these negotiations. This study is an attempt to show the position of Abdelkrim and Allal Al-Fasi from these negotiations and the reasons which led them to opposite it.
