الأمفو ا رت أحد روافد الاقتصاد والتنمية المحلية في العالم القديم. حيث تعد النوع الأكثر انتشا ا رً في
الم ا ركز الصناعية، بإعتبارها أوعية وظيفية تصنع لغرض تلبية متطلبات الصناعة الغذائية التي تحملها،
لذلك تم إستخدامه بشكل مكثف كمؤشر للنشاط الاقتصادي في إفريقيا وفي جميع أنحاء البحر الأبيض
المتوسط.
إن د ا رسة الأمفو ا رت يعد مصد ا ر من مصادر التاريخ التجاري والإقتصادي، فالج ا رر والأمفو ا رت
والمنتجات الفخارية إعتبرت من أهم الحرف القديمة، والتي تقدم للباحث الكثير من الإشا ا رت التاريخية
