Occurrence of neck pain in dentists : the case of practitioners in the city of Oran. A descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out in the city of Oran, among 117 dentists. It was carried out between 1 February and 15 March 2022. An anonymous self-questionnaire was distributed and evaluated. We found that 76.1% of the population studied complained of neck pain and that 63.3% of them worked five days a week. Practitioners working in a seated position constituted 38.5% of our sample and 10.3% working in a standing position. It appears that 78.6% use indirect vision. Poor posture is responsible for the onset of these pains in 85.4% of cases. These inappropriate postures are clearly likely to induce these pains in 66.3%. Univariate statistical analysis of these data showed that neck pain is more frequent in women (p=0.046), that private practitioners are more affected by neck pain (p=0.021) and that those who opt for the sitting position are more likely to develop these pathologies (p=0.02). Dentists must be aware of the risks of their profession. Training in prevention and ergonomics is a major preventive factor.
