Abstract:
The North African region, and in particular the Medjez -Sfa area in the Wilaya of Guelma, was known by many civilizations because of its strategic location as a result of several conditions, including wars and trade exchanges, and this succession affected the social structure of the region and its religious belief.
This research aims to enrich and protect the national archaeological heritage, in addition to revealing social and religious diversity, through the study of bibliographic and field data, as Medjez -Sfa is considered among the areas rich in ancient rural spaces that are part of the Numidian Kingdom region, and then part of The Roman as well as the Byzantine period, which left archaeological evidence of cultural and historical importance.
During the bibliographic research process, we obtained important data, especially the scripts which were mentioned in some books and periodicals, however, during the archaeological survey that we carried out through multiple stages, we did not find many monuments and archaeological finds that are a significant witness to the various historical periods that passed in the region correspondingly to the settlement and activity of the ancient man in all the areas he inhabited.
