Université d'Alger 2 Abou El Kacem Saadallah, 2009-06-15) Bensemmane, M'hamedThis paper approaches the problem of academic response to literature in an EFL context, as experienced by advanced undergraduate students. The challenge for them is to engage in a questioning of texts, and therefore to move beyond mere reproducing knowledge of authors and their works, as well as conventional critical comments on themes and styles.
