The topic of this study is the translation of Quranic terminology into English, with a focus on tracing the impact of Tafsir on the translation process, and the way translators choose equivalents for these terms in the target language. Since terminology serves as a key to understanding any specialized field, Quranic terminology, in particular, is the gateway to comprehending and interpreting the Quranic text. Through an analytical and comparative study of selected examples from Quranic translations, this research paper examines the translation of Quranic terms into English and the role of Tafsir in this process. We have selected the term "Al-Furkân" as a case study, as it is one of the Quranic terms that has acquired a new specialized meaning within the Quranic discourse. The findings of this study underscore the importance and necessity of referring to Tafsir books to understand accurately the meanings of Quranic terms, enabling their clear and precise expression in English.Item المصطلح الأدبي بين الترجمة والتعريب(قراءة نقدية في قاموس السرديات لجيرالد برنس)(مجلة اللسانيات التطبيقية- كلية اللغة العربية وأدابها- جامعة الجزائر 02- أبو القاسم سعد الله, 2025-06-04) مسلم, إشراقيُعد التعريب أحد أهم الآليات التي يُلجأ إليها للتعامل مع الوافد الغربي من مصطلحات، غير أن كثيرا من أهل المجامع اللغوية يرون فيه قضاء على فاعلية اللغة العربية وإخلالا بنظامها، ولذا اشترطوا عدم النزوع إليه إلا مكرهين، إلا أننا إذا نظرنا من زاوية أخرى ألفينا المعرَّب يتميز بالعالمية وبالعمق الناتج عن كونه لفظا صادما، وبين هذا وذاك و في ظل هذا التضارب ارتأينا الوقوف على واقع عملية نقل المصطلح الأدبي من خلال قراءة في قاموس السرديات المترجم من قِبل "السيد إمام" لنرى نسبة اللجوء إلى آلية التعريب وإلى أي مدى أثبتت هذه الطريقة حصافتها أو العكس، وعليه فإن الورقة البحثية تحاور الإشكالية الآتية: ما هو واقع المصطلح الأدبي المنقول إلى الثقافة العربية؟Arabization considered one the most important mechanisms used to deal with Western understanding in terms of terminology, however many linguistic academics see it as an end to the effectiveness of the Arabic language and a violation of its system, thus having stipulated not to resort to such methods except when obliged. Looking from another angle we find the arabized term being distinguished universally with a newfound depth resulting from it being coined all of a sudden, and between this and that and in light of this linguistic clash, we decided to resort to the process of transferring the literary term through via a reading of the narrative dictionary translated by “Sayyid Imam” In order to see the percentage of usage of the Arabization mechanism, and to what extent this method has proven its prudence or vice versa, and accordingly, the research paper discusses the following problem: What is the reality of the literary terms that have been transferred to the Arab culture؟Item التغيرات الدلالية في النص القرآني المترجم إلى الإنجليزية سورة الرحمن اُنموذجا(مجلة اللسانيات التطبيقية- كلية اللغة العربية وأدابها- جامعة الجزائر 02- أبو القاسم سعد الله, 2025-06-04) مولاي, فتيحةتُعدّ الترجمة آلية من آليات المثاقفة والحوار الحضاري، ومن أخطر ميادينها ترجمة النص القرآني. فكيف تُوظَّف لنقل دلالاتِ نصّ محكم البنية لا تُوظّف فيه أصغر لبنة عشوائيا؟ كيف يمكن للترجمة أن تحافظ على ميزاته الخاصة صوتيا وتركيبا ودلاليا؟ وإلى أيّ مدى يمكن أن تخونه؟ نحاول في هذا المقال الإجابة عن هذا من خلال دراسة عيّنة من ترجمتين إنجليزيتين؛ ترجمة "عبد الله يوسف بيكتال" و"محمد مارمادوك.". نهدف في هذا المقال إلى دراسة التغيرات التي تطرأ على النص المترجم إلى الإنجليزية على المستوى الصوتي. ومن خلال مناقشة بعض التغيرات الدلالية. وتوصّل البحث إلى أن النص العربي يتسم بميزة خاصة، وهي ارتباط صفات أصواته بدلالاته، فاذا ما ترجم إلى صوت لآخر في لغة أخرى يختلف عنــــــه كليا من حيث الصفة و المخرج ...الخ سيفقد الارتباط الذي بينه والدلالة حتما ومن ثَمَّ الميزة الفنية الخاصة بلغة القرآن. ومن ثمّ فقدان النص الهدف للأثر النفسي لجرس الأصوات وإيقاعها الخاص جدا. Translation is one of the mechanisms of cultural exchange and civilizational dialogue, and one of its most critical fields is the translation of the Quranic text. How can translation be employed to convey the meanings of a text with a precise structure, where not even the smallest element is used randomly? How can translation maintain the specific characteristics of the text in terms of sound, structure, and meaning? To what extent can it betray these features? This article attempts to answer these questions through the study of two English translations: those by Abdullah Yusuf Ali and Muhammad Marmaduke. The goal of this article is to examine the changes that occur in the translated text at the phonetic level, as well as to discuss some of the semantic changes. The research concludes that the Arabic text has a unique feature, which is the connection between the qualities of its sounds and their meanings. When translated into the sound system of another language, which is fundamentally different in terms of qualities and articulation, the link between sound and meaning will inevitably be lost, and thus, the distinct artistic feature of the Quranic language will be lost as well. The study seeks to show the effectiveness of translation criticism in translation operations between different languages, by being a strategy based on the act of criticism and evaluation of previous translations and can be considered in the translation process, and this is what benefits the human translators in the transfer of texts and cultures of nations across generations and the formation of an educated and educated generation. Thus, one of the proposals I recorded in the end is the use of modern computer techniques to develop translation criticism to interactive digital translation, after installing appropriate applications for such a righteous Dubai work, and working to develop their strategies continuously, in a way that benefits students and researchers in the field of translation, transportation and interaction between nations and civilizations Arab and Western in various scientific, cultural, political and even economic aspects.Item Traduire La Cohésion Lexicale Dans Le Roman: Le Cas De La Réitération Dans “l’attentat” De Yasmina Khadra(مجلة اللسانيات التطبيقية- كلية اللغة العربية وأدابها- جامعة الجزائر 02- أبو القاسم سعد الله, 2025-06-04) Boucharif, NabilaNotre recherche s’intéresse à la traduction du texte littéraire. Elle se base sur l’étude des contraintes de la traduction du discours romanesque et vise à mettre en évidence l’importance de la prise en compte des marques de la cohésion lexicale, aussi bien sur le plan de la compréhension que sur celui de la réexpression. Nous nous proposons de mener une étude comparative sur deux traductions arabe et anglaise du roman ‘L’Attentat’ de Yasmina Khadra. Notre objectif sera de dégager et d’évaluer les différents moyens de restitution mobilisés par chaque traducteur pour rendre la réitération sous ses différentes formes (la répétition, la synonymie, l’hyperonymie et l’hyponymie), tout en les soumettant aux règles pragmatiques et lexico-sémantiques qui gèrent le discours romanesque. This research examines the translation of literary texts. It is based on the study of the constraints encountered in rendering novelistic discourse, and aims to highlight the importance of taking into account the marks of lexical cohesion, both in terms of comprehension and reexpression. We suggest to conduct a comparative study on two Arabic and English translations of the novel ‘The Attack’ by Yasmina Khadra. The objective will be to identify and evaluate the different means of restitution mobilized by each translator to render reiteration in its different forms (repetition, synonymy, hyperonymy and hyponymy), according to some pragmatic and lexico-semantic rules that run the novelistic discourse.Item The Integral Role Of Translation In Esp: From Theory To Practice(مجلة اللسانيات التطبيقية- كلية اللغة العربية وأدابها- جامعة الجزائر 02- أبو القاسم سعد الله, 2025-06-04) Merine, Asma; Kherraz Mokhtaria, MokhtariaTeaching English for Specific Purposes has gained currency in Algeria and across the world. However, most teachers are struggling with endless challenges and problems that need resolving. As it pertains to English for Specific Purposes (henceforth ESP), learners are expected to develop their communicative competence, acquire different language skills, and use specialized terminology in the context of their discipline (medicine, business, social sciences, .... etc.). Therefore, this article attempts to offer a route towards solving a persistent issue within English language teaching which is the problem of translation by discussing the inherent difficulties in translating specific terms and emphasizes the role of context in communication. Moreover, this paper delves into the issue of teaching/learning foreign languages and translation integration in its pedagogic aspects, with a specific emphasis on ESP classes. Through examples, the study demonstrates how the incorporation of translation competencies into ESP instructional courses is likely to enhance the learner’s overall proficiency and preparedness for the international job market.Item Investigating The Impact Of Memes On Language And Identity: Case Study Of M1 Students Of Ibn Khaldoun University Of Tiaret(مجلة اللسانيات التطبيقية- كلية اللغة العربية وأدابها- جامعة الجزائر 02- أبو القاسم سعد الله, 2025-06-04) Adda Sekrane, Chifaa; Belarbi, KhaledIn the digital era of social media, memes have progressed beyond temporary expressions of humor, functioning as a means of communication, cultural transmission, and self-expression. This research examines the role of memes on language and identity. Therefore, the researcher opted for the mixed method approach in which open-ended questionnaires were delivered to 100 M1 Linguistics’ students at Ibn Khaldoun University of Tiaret to understand their perceptions and attitudes towards meme culture, and a classroom observation was conducted to examine students’ real-time engagement and interaction with memes. The findings proved that memes can influence students’ language and cultural identity by influencing their linguistic expressions, reinforcing cultural references and enhancing social belonging within online communities. Therefore, further interdisciplinary research on memes is necessary to examine their role in language change and identity convergence. Based on the analysis of a CNN article and its CNN Arabic translation, the research identifies key difficulties and examines strategies that can be employed to minimize meaning loss while ensuring clear and accurate business communicationItem الحواشي البلاغية وأهميتها عند العرب المتأخرين " حاشية الأمير على شرح الملّويّ على الرسالة السمرقندية في الاستعارات أنموذجا"(مجلة اللسانيات التطبيقية- كلية اللغة العربية وأدابها- جامعة الجزائر 02- أبو القاسم سعد الله, 2025-06-04) لعميري, عبد القادر: يهدف هذا البحث إلى الكشف عن أهمّية نوع من أنواع المؤلّفات العربية التي صنّفت في العصور المتأخرة، وبالتّحديد في عصر المماليك، ونقصد بها الحواشي البلاغيّة، لكنّ بعض هذه المؤلّفات لم تحظ بما يناسبها من الدّراسة والبحث والنّظر، لا سيما ما اختصّ منها بمجال البلاغة. حاول البحث ذلك من خلال دراسة حاشية الأمير على شرح الملّوي على الرّسالة السمرقنديّة في الاستعارات. وقد خلص البحث إلى أنّ الحواشي البلاغية لها أهمّيّة كبيرة في البحث البلاغي العربي، خاصة إذا علمنا أنها غير مُوجّهة للمبتدئين في هذا الفنّ، بل أُلِّفَت لمن يريد الاستزادة في هذا العلم والإحاطة بشوارده ونوادره. This research aims to uncover the importance of type of Arab compostions the were formulated in later eras, specifically in the Mamluk era, These compsitions were intended for rhetorical purposes, However, some of these works did not receive sufficient study and attention in the field of rhetoric, through an analytical study, this research attempts to explain what is termed rhetorical margins, focusing on the explanation of metaphors. The research concluded that these footnotes are of great importance in rhetorical research, especially if we know that they are not intended for beginners in the science of rhetoric.Item "اللف والنشر" وإنتاج الدلالة في آيات القرآن(مجلة اللسانيات التطبيقية- كلية اللغة العربية وأدابها- جامعة الجزائر 02- أبو القاسم سعد الله, 2025-06-04)استودع الله في القرآن الكريم ما يصلح شأن الإنسان في المعاش والمعاد وما يصلح شأن الدنيا من حوله، فكان كلامه مكتنزا طوى المعاني الكثيرة في العبارات الموجزة، فكل ما يَجِدُّ به الزمان والمكان والحال يجد له أهل الذكر ما يوافقه من معاني القرآن، فدلالات القرآن متجددة، والمفسرون أعملوا عقولهم وقلوبهم تفكيرا وتدبرا، فجعلوا من خصائص التعبير القرآني وسائل للتقليب وتشقيق الدلالات، ويهدف هذا المقال إلى بيان خصيصة "اللف والنشر" بوصفها محسنا بديعيا معنويا، وكيف اتخذها المفسرون آلة من آلات إنتاج الدلالة وتوسيع المعاني القرآنية. والمتتبع لمواضع اللف والنشر في القرآن الكريم يجد أنها فتحت أبوابا لدلالات كثيرة، فلا تكاد تجد جملة قرآنية لفت خبرين ثم نشرت تفصيلهما إلا وقرأ المفسرون من خلالها أكثر من دلالة في التفصيل والإجمال. والبحث في غزارة الدلالات القرآنية وتعددها غاية سعى إليها المفسرون والعلماء؛ لأنها باب كبير من أبواب تيسير الدين، وأمارة على مرونة الشريعة الإسلامية واتساع أفقها، فمعاني القرآن لا يضيق بها صدر ولا تنفر منها نفس، وذلك كله كفيل بتحبيب هذا الدين إلى النفوس والقلوب، وقد حاول هذا البحث إضاءة هذه السبيل. In the Holy Quran, Allah has provided guidance for human affairs in both this life and the hereafter, as well as for the world around him. His words are rich, encompassing many meanings within concise expressions. Whatever changes occur in time, place, or circumstance, scholars find corresponding meanings in the Quran. The meanings of the Quran are ever-renewing, and interpreters have employed their intellects and hearts for reflection and contemplation, making use of the distinctive features of Quranic expression as tools for exploring and elaborating meanings. This article aims to elucidate the rhetorical device of "al-laf wa al-nashr" (figure of speech consisting of naming many objects and accompanying everyone by an adequate adjective) as a means of expanding and elaborating meanings, and how interpreters have used it to generate and broaden Quranic interpretations.
