The United kingdom in the european union

Abstract

The focus of this research is in the area of exploring the troubled relationship between the UK and the EU in an attempt to find out what kind of impact do they upon each other - despite the many disagreements. Such a study is important in order to highlight the fact that in spite of the differences, the UK witnesssed several changes after its joining in 1973. The changes are manifested at the level of politics when its main political parties have been greatly affected by the different mechanisms coming from 'Europe'. the research approach opted in this dissertation includes the historicist one next to the europeanization concept.
