Abstract
The social phenomenon of begging is an uncivilized practice that threatens societies and distorts the image of cities all over the world, as the phenomenon affects national security; increases crime rates; raises unemployment; and leads to intellectual and moral decay as a consequence of beggars using drugs and promoting them individuals. The types and methods of begging have diversified over time, becoming more and more creative and impactful. Despite the existence of many deterrent laws, the phenomenon is increasingly spreading which requires studies and analyses to be conducted in order to limit its spread, and governmental and societal efforts to be intensified so that radical sustainable solutions are provided.
