Abstract

Fort Taza or Bordj of Emir Abdelkader: unpublished archaeological and historical data. This study aims to present the Fort Taza, called also Bordj Emir Abdel-Kader, currently attached to the wilaya of Tissemsilt. This Fort is one of the many forts raised by the Emir Abdel-Kader in his war against the French colonial occupation. We begin by outlining a set of unpublished archaeological data before stating the few attempts made to rehabilitate this historic siteon the basis of numerous archaeological indicators it contains. It is important to note that, the strength of Fort Tazais closely related to significan this torical facts which confirm that the regionhas always been inhabited since prehistoric times to the present day. Many sites and many archaeological discoveries demonstrate the succession of civilizations in the region.
