Abstract

إن تاريخ بلاد المغرب القديم تاريخ حافل بأحداث كثيرة، تحدث عنها العديد من المؤرخين والأثريين. وأولى هذه الكتابات تعود للكتاب الإغريق والرومان فقد كانوا السباقين في تدوين تاريخ هذه المنطقة، لكن يبقى هيرودوت أول من خص هذه الرقعة الجغرافية بالدراسة في القرن الخامس قبل الميلاد في الجزء الرابع من كتابه التواريخ، والذي يعتبر من المصادر الأساسي في دراسة تاريخ بلاد المغرب القديم خلال الفترة القديمة، ومن الأمور التي ذكرها في فقرات هذا الجزء، ما تعلق بالحياة اليومية، ونمط عيش هؤلاء السكان، أين أشار إلى العادات التي كان الليبيون ينفردون بها، وتلك التي كانت تتشابه في بعضها مع عادات جيرانهم المصريين، فهيرودوت تحدث عن هذه المظاهر بعد زيارته للمستوطنة الإغريقية قورينة الواقعة على أرض ليبيا ، أين أخذ هذه الاخبار بعد احتكاكه بالليبيين الذين كانوا يسكنون في هذه المدينة.
