Abstract

Literature of traveling: description of the sea (stylistic study). This study is about a reading of the sailing of Abi Abbes al-Makkari, one of the great figures of Algerian literature, on the basis of the stylistic postulates according to language levels, in order to have access to his intellectual heritage as far as form and style are concerned. We have noticed: the phonology and its significations such as the digression of the two letters al- Raa and al- lam, the grammar structure particularly the links and the concision, and the rhetoric level in its renunciation and relinquishment. Abou Abbas was always relying on diglossia which do not quit him: water and earth, Maghreb and Machrek, arrival and departure, fear and ambition, land and sea. A diglossia that had forged al-Makkari’s personality, his way of living and his thinking.
