Abstract

Young people between conflict of values and crisis of confidence. This study discusses two important interrelated phenomena: the conflict of values and the crisis of confidence. These phenomena characterize the lives of Arabic young in general and the Algerian one in particular, and reflect the profound social changes which are happening across the Arab societies. We present in the first point the intellectual and the theoretical debates with regards to the reality and the role of values in the social development and social progress. We focus on the case of the Arab world, and discuss the conflict of values among Algerian youths seeking to determine its factors and manifestations. In a second point, we discuss the finality of crisis of confidence among young people, which usually leads to social conflict. But at the beginning, we define the concept of trust, its causes, its dimensions, its decline and its impact on social life.
