Abstract

The present study aims to reveal the role of social support in disability acceptance among individuals with acquired motor disabilities. The study was conducted on a sample composed of 112 individuals with acquired motor disabilities. After collecting data by administering the Social Support Scale and the Disability Acceptance Scale, the data were analyzed statistically, then discussed in the light of the proposed hypotheses. Results showed that individuals who received social support from family and friends achieved higher levels of disability acceptance compared to those who did not receive support or care from their social environment.
