Abstract

The study aims to shed light on the importance of knowledge management in university libraries in light of the spread of information and communication technology, by reviewing knowledge management systems and practice from a theoretical and practical side, it gives the way for the concept of scientific Knowledge and the confusion and ambiguity in terminology and concepts. Then we discuss the importance of implementing knowledge in university libraries, reviewing its most important components and stages. We will also try to highlight the importance of information technology in creating, storing, sharing and applying knowledge, monitoring the most important applications and programs adopted in knowledge management and supporting them with some practices and experiences in the field of libraries.
