Abstract

Presentation of a document of Mohammed Ben Rahal about claiming reforms (1891) Prof. Abdelhamid Hadjiat University Abou Bekr Belkaid, Tlemcen- Algeria The document presented here, gets its importance from its signatory Mohamed Ben Rahal on the one hand and the type of claims he had submitted with Dr. Mohammed Ben Larbi in front of the Colonial Commission of the French Senate in July 1891, on the other hand. The document comes as a protest platform encompassing cultural, social, economic and political aspects of "natives". From a historical point of view, this document is in its content and in its form, a break with the anti-colonial armed struggle and announces the different forms of political struggles which occurred in the first fifty years of the twentieth century before the outbreak of the Revolution (1st of November 1954).
