Abstract

The critique of industrial society Marcuse and Others. This article analyzes Art according to Herbert Marcuse. Considered by industrial society as a shelter and refuge, Art is one of the main elements of a revolutionary strategy to free man from the invasion of consumption society. Rationalism instrumental managed to standardize individuals and break into their privacy while dominating nature. This instrumental reason and the concept of individualism are regarded as the cause of the fragmentation of societies. The standardization of individuals and their attitudes were strongly criticized by Charles Taylor.
