Abstract

يدرس هذا البحث ترجمة تيار الوعي في رواية ''عوليس'' ''Ulysses'' لجيمس جويس ''James Joyce'', بترجميتها الأولى لطه محمود طه والثانية لصلاح نيازي, ويهدف إلى استقصاء طريقة تعاملهما مع تقنيات عرض هذا الأسلوب وكذا تأثير ترجمتيهما على البنية السردية للنص. توصلنا إلى أن الترجمة السليمة لهذا الأسلوب السردي متوقفة على نقل سماته الشكلية واللغوية وأن تفادي الوقوع في عدد كبير من التغيرات مرتبط بمدى تفطّن المترجم إلى أهميته القصوى في النص الأصل. اتجه طه محمود طه, للحرفية قصد الحفاظ على السمات الشكلية لتيار الوعي, لكنه لم ينجح في المحافظة على دلالاتها, وهذا ما أوقعه في عدد كبير من التغيرات, وبالتالي ظهور وحضور أكبر في النص الهدف. أما صلاح نيازي, فقد تقيد في ترجمته بالشرح والتفسير وتفضيل المعنى على مبنى أسلوب تيار الوعي, وقد كانت نسبة حضوره في النص الهدف قليلة نظرا لقلة نسبة التغيرات The present work tackles stream of consciousness translation in two Arabic versions of “Ulysses” by James Joyce. Our aim is to demonstrate how both translators dealt with stream-of-consciousness, as well as to make out the effect of their translational decisions on the narrative structure of the text. We have come to the conclusion that rendering properly stream of consciousness into Arabic pertains to focusing on its formal and linguistic features. Hence, preventing shifts in translation depends on the translator’s awareness of its importance. Taha Mahmoud Taha focused on stream of consciousness formal features. Thus, His presence was obviously detectable due to the large number of shifts that occurred in his translation. Salah Niazi’s translation was based on explicitation. He was stuck to the semantic side. Hence, he was less present in the target text due to the small number of shifts
