Abstract
In the contemporary political landscape of Western Du«.rpe, the evolution
of social democracy has sparkecl reneu,ed debates on its capacity to adapt
to the dynamics of global capitalism and thc poslindusrdal socieqr Against
this backdrop, the emergence of the so-called Third Way represents a pivotal
moment in the ledefinition of the ideological bouudaries of the Left. Conceived
as a lorm of political pragmatism that seeks to trânscend the binurry opposirion
between state inter-ventionism and market liberalism, tlis doctrine has
profoundly reshaped thc discursive stratcgics of centre-lelt parties, particularly
in the United Kingdom under New Labour.
