Item مختصر في تاريخ الجزائر Sketches Of Algiers عرض كتاب (حسبما ورد في مجلة أمريكا الشمالية 1826(مجلة حوليات جامعة الجزائر2, 2022-06-30) تابليت, علياقتنع وليام شالر في ظل ندرة الكتابات حول إيالة الجزائر (سياسيا واجتماعيا، واقتصاديا)، بضرورة استغلال فرصة تواجده بالجزائر في خوض غمار كتابة ملاحظاته وانطباعاته حول صحية قوّة وأهمية سياسة مملكة الجزائر القائمة على القرصنة، وتتبع أسباب العديد من الأحداث التي ظهرت منذ إقامته بالمملكة سنة 1816 م كقنصل عام للوليات المتحدة الأمريكية، والوقوف على التأثير الذي يفترض أن يحدثه، تسامح هؤلاء القراصنة على ازدهار التجارة الأمريكية في البحر الأبيض المتوسط. Faced with the scarcity of writings on the Eyalet of Algiers, William Shaler was convinced of the need to take advantage of the opportunity of his presence in Algeria to engage in the writing of his observations and impressions on the validity of the power and the importance of the Kingdom. of Algeria's policy based on piracy, and trace the causes of many events that have occurred since his stay in the Kingdom in the year 1816 A.D. as Consul General of the States the United States of America, and seeing the effect they are meant to have, forgive these pirates for the prosperity of American trade in the Mediterranean.
