France's Relationship With The Sublime Porte And Its Maghreb Provinces During The 16th Century In Light Of The Documents From Muhimat Dafteri

Abstract

يعالج هذا المقال مسألة العلاقات السياسية والدبلوماسية والاقتصادية للدولة العثمانية وإيالاتها المغاربية مع الدول الأوروبية خلال القرن(10ه/16م)، وهي الفترة التي وصل فيها المد العثماني إلى بلاد المغارب، وأخذ يرتبط بعلاقات خارجية، وتأتي على رأسها علاقته بفرنسا التي عمدت إلى انتهاج أسلوب المسالمة لتوسيع دائرة نفوذها في المنطقة، ولا شك أن ذلك جعل هذه العلاقات تكتسي أهمية كبيرة لدى الباحثين بالنظر إلى أنها ألقت بظلالها على تاريخ بلاد المغارب الحديث والمعاصر ولا زال لها امتداد في الوقت الراهن. ويهدف طرح هذه الورقة البحثية إلى استقراء وتحليل بعض من وثائق الدفاتر المهمة من أجل إبراز طابع ومظاهر هذه العلاقات والعوامل المتحكمة في تسييرها، وقد خلصت في الأساس إلى جملة من النتائج تمثلت بالأساس في أن التقارب الفرنسي العثماني كان مصلحي في ظل رغبة فرنسا في استغلال امتيازات الباب العالي لتثبيت أقدامها بمنطقة المغارب.

This article addresses the issue of political, diplomatic, and economic relations of the Ottoman Empire and its Maghreb provinces with European countries during the 16th century AD /. This period the Ottoman influence reach the Maghreb region, establishing external relations, with a particular focus on its relations with France. France adopted a peaceful approach to expand its influence in the region, making these relations of great importance to researchers, as they cast a significant shadow on the modern and contemporary history of the Maghreb region, still echoing in the present time. This research paper aims to explore and analyze some important documents in order to highlight the nature and aspects of these relations and the controlling factors. The study concluded that the Franco-Ottoman rapprochement was primarily driven by French interests, as France sought to exploit the privileges of the Sublime Porte to establish its foothold in the Maghreb region.
