Abstract

إنجاز بيوغرافيا ثقافية عن ستيفان غزال (1864-1932) هو تمرين أكاديمي نادر التداول في الكتابة التاريخية الجزائرية بلغة الضاد. ما يجب أن نستعين به لإنجاز سيرة فكرية من حياة المؤلف، هل ما يتعلق بالفكر أم كل ماهو مرتبط بالوجود على حد تعبير فرانسوا دوس؟ تهدف مقاربتنا إلى النظر في طرق تناول التاريخ الإجتماعي للقبيلة في جزائر الحقبة العتية وهذا قبل نشأة وبزوغ مايعرف بالتاريخ الجديد والأنتروبولوجيا التاريخية. يهدف التمرين إلى رصد بدايات الكتابة الأكاديمية في التاريخ، تلك التي ينجزها المؤرخون المحترفون، لا الهواة، في مدرسة الآداب بالجزائر. Gsell Stéphane; A Master and Pioneer of Academic History in Algeria — Advocate for the Social History of Tribes writing an intellectual biography of Gsell Stéphane (1864–1932) is a rare undertaking within Algerian historical writing in the Arabic language. As François Dosse suggests, one may ask what aspects of a biographer’s life are worth preserving or reflecting upon. Our approach aims to highlight how Gsell examined the social history of tribes in ancient Algeria, well before the emergence of the Annales school — a historiographical movement that paved the way for social history and historical anthropology. This work also seeks to trace the early development of academic history in Algeria, written by trained professional historians rather than amateurs, within the School of Letters in Algiers.
