الدولة السلوقية في عهد أنطيوخوس الثالث (الكبير) 223 – 187 ق. م

Abstract

بعد وفاة الاسكندر الأكبر سنة 323 ق.م، انقسمت إمبراطوريته إلى ثلاثة ممالك كبرى، وكانت الدولة السلوقية واحدة منها، والتي أسسها سلوقس الأول، الذي اتخذ من سورية مركزا لها، وشملت مناطق من بلاد الرافدين وآسيا الصغرى، وكغيرها من الدول فقد مرت بفترات من القوة والضعف. وفي هذه الدراسة سنتناول مرحلة من بين أصعب الفترات التي مرت بها، وهي الفترة التي تولى فيها أنطيوخوس الثالث السلطة، خلفا لوالده سلوقس الثالث، حيث وجد أنطيوخوس الممملكة في حالة من الضعف والتفكك، وقد أحاطت بها المخاطر كالصراع على العرش وحركات التمرد ومحاولات الانفصال، إضافة إلى الصراع مع مملكة البطالمة في مصر، وسنبين الظروف التي وصل فيها أنطيوخوس إلى السلطة، والتحديات التي واجهته، وكيف تمكن من إعادة الاعتبار إلى الدولة. After the death of Alexander the Great in the year 323 BC, the empire was divided in to three major kingdoms, and the Seleucid state was one of them, which was founded by Seleucus I, who took Syria as its center, and included regions of Mesopotamia and Asia Minor, and like other countries, it passed periods of strength and weakness. In this study, we will discuss one of the most difficult periods it went through, which is the period in which Antiochus III assumed power, succeeding his father, Seleucus III, where Antiochus found the kingdom in a state of weakness and disintegration, and it was surrounded by dangers such as conflict over the throne, rebellions, and secession attempts, in addition to the conflict with the Kingdom of the Ptolemies in Egypt, we will show the circumstances in which Antiochus came to power, the challenges he faced, and how he was able to restore dignity to the state.
