Abstract

In thisresearch, weintend to focus on the media and argumentative mechanismsthatgovern the inter-round debate. To do this, wesubmitted the debate of the second round of the French presidentialelections of 2017 to an interdisciplinaryapproachgivenits dual linguistic and audiovisual aspect. The semidiscursiveapproachwasconvened to shed light on the modalitieschosen by the media body to carry out the debate. Wethenuseddiscourseanalysis, and more specifically argumentative analysis, to show how persuasion isimplementedduring the duel.
