الفيلة ودورها في الحروب البونية (265-202 ق.م)

Abstract

يعتبر الفيل من أهم الحيوانات التي استخدمها القادة في الحروب القديمة كالهنود والفرس والإغريق والبطالمة وخصوصا القرطاجيين الذين استعملوه خلال صراعهم مع الرومان في إطار الحرب البونية الأولى والحرب البونية الثانية، وارتبط ارتباطا وثيقا بحملة حنبعل على إيطاليا، إذ حقق القرطاجيون بفضل الفيلة عدة انتصارات هامة، في حين أخفقوا في معارك أخرى رغم استخدامهم للفيل لعدة اعتبارات مثلما حصل ذلك في معركة زاما سنة 202 ق.م التي كانت آخر معركة استعملت فيها الفيلة. The elephant is considered one of the main animals used in wars by the Indians, the Greeks and the Ptolemies and especially by the Carthaginians who used them in their wars against the Romans, in the first and second Punic wars. The elephant is strongly linked to the companion of Hannibal against Italy, where the Carthaginians won several battles, however they lost others despite the introduction of elephants and this for several reasons like the last battle of Zama 220 (AJ)
