Sicily is one of the passages of Islamic civilization to Europe during the European Middle Ages, as their influence on the island was not limited to the demise of Muslim rule, but rather their influence continued under the rule of the Normans who were newly civilized, so the Islamic civilization continued to flourish in Sicily during the Norman rule, and the Normans were influenced by the traditions of Islamic rule. The glass industry constituted a real revolution in the process of human development and urbanization through the ages and eras of history, and its industry and arts became a manifestation of civilization for nations and peoples and an aspect of economic prosperity, artistic and urban sophistication, and emotional value. Industrialization and industry merged with art and aesthetics, especially in the Islamic era.
