This research examines the translation of literary texts. It is based on the study of the constraints encountered in rendering novelistic discourse, and aims to highlight the importance of taking into account the marks of lexical cohesion, both in terms of comprehension and reexpression. We suggest to conduct a comparative study on two Arabic and English translations of the novel ‘The Attack’ by Yasmina Khadra. The objective will be to identify and evaluate the different means of restitution mobilized by each translator to render reiteration in its different forms (repetition, synonymy, hyperonymy and hyponymy), according to some pragmatic and lexico-semantic rules that run the novelistic discourse. This article examines aspects of cultural diversity in the second novel by the Senegalese writer Aminata Sow Fall, entitled «Beggars' Strike or Human Waste» (La Grève des bàttu ou Les Déchets humains) (1979), which translated into several languages, including Arabic in 2011, by the tunisian writer and translator Jamel Jelassi. In the face of this translated text, the question of translation arises, and invites us to know how the Arabic translator reacted to aspects of linguistic and cultural plurality, as well as to the implicit discourse of domination, marginalization and corruption, especially since the translator and the writer are of African origin and culture. The study of the manifestations of the African cultural present in African literary creation aims to know the determinants of the translative act and its priorities, within a common novelistic corpus in terms of the references of its writing and its reception.Item Exploring Emotional And Cultural Dimensions In Translation A Sociolinguistic Approach To Arabic Literary Forms(المجلة الجزائرية لعلوم اللسان - مخبر اللسانيات وعلم الإجتماع اللغوي وتعليمية اللغات - كلية اللغة العربية وأدابها- جامعة الجزائر02- أبو القاسم سعد الله, 2024-06-28) Bekouche, Mahbouba; Kadim, Elsaid HaiderThis study explores the intricate challenges of translating Arabic poetry, focusing on emotional and nonverbal content. By examining the works of three renowned poets—Al-Khansa, Dhu al-Rummah, and Al-Mutanabbi—we delve into the complexities of conveying profound grief, cultural cues, and themes of pride and aspiration. The analysis integrates sociolinguistic theory and the concept of Dynamic Equivalence to provide a comprehensive framework for understanding the translation process. Through detailed case studies, we identify common challenges and successful strategies in translating the rich emotional and cultural nuances of Arabic poetry. This research highlights the crucial role of translators as cultural mediators and underscores the importance of cultural sensitivity and adaptation in preserving the emotional integrity of the original texts.Item الاختلافات والتناقضات في نصوص المعاهدات في العصر الحديث: معاهدات إيالة الجزائر ومملكة الدانمارك-النرويج في القرن 18م نموذجا(2024-06-30) عبد الهادي رجائي, سالميTreaties and agreements have long been intrinsic components of diplomatic relations among political entities throughout history. While these treaties, particularly those of a political nature, held immense historical significance within their respective contexts and intended objectives, some were tarnished by discrepancies and errors -whether deliberate or inadvertent- in their wording and translation. These errors, on numerous occasions, gave rise to ambiguities in interpreting the content of treaty articles, often resulting in alterations of their intended meanings to favor one party over the other. Consequently, such discrepancies directly contributed to the emergence of disputes between the signatory parties. This study delves into a notable instance of these disparities within treaty versions. It meticulously examines the distinctions between the Algerian versions (in Ottoman Turkish) of the 1746 and 1772 treaties on the one hand, and the Danish versions (in Danish and French) on the other. By scrutinizing these treaties articles, this analysis aims to unveil the contradictions and ambiguities that inevitably fueled tensions in the relations between these two countries. This examination is conducted while taking into account the historical context, as well as the local and international circumstances in which these treaties were ratified. In conclusion, this paper contends that both the 1746 and 1772 treaties were marred by lapses and deficiencies in the Algerian and Danish versions respectively, ultimately leading one party to interpret them in their favor and compelling the other party to invalidate them in defense of its own interests.Item Memes(Faculté des Langues Etrangères. Université d'Alger 2 Abou El Kacem Saadallah, 2024-06-30) De Brito, MariaThe paper aims to discuss some cultural aspects of translation, particularly the untranslatability of the otherness of memes. What is a meme? It's a humorous picture, sentence, video, or photo spreading rapidly and forming a real phenomenon on the network. So how can we ensure that certain aspects embodied in it, which have to do with local elements rooted in the history, education, and daily life of a given country, are understood by receivers of different latitudes? This is a request for thinking through humor, academia, philosophy, networks, information technology, and effective communication (or less).Item
