"نظرية التهذيب اللغوي في اللغتين العربية والإنجليزية دراسة مقارنة" “the Theory Of Linguistic Politeness In Arabic And English: A Comparative Study”

Abstract

ملخص: يتناول هذا البحث مفهوم التهذيب اللغوي بوصفه ظاهرة تداولية واجتماعية أساسية في بناء التفاعل الإنساني. يستعرض البحث ثلاث نظريات مركزية: نظرية روبين لاكوف التي ربطت التهذيب بالكفاءة التداولية، ونظرية براون وليفنسون التي ركّزت على مفهوم "الوجه" واستراتيجيات التعامل مع الأفعال المهدِّدة له، ونظرية جيفري ليتش التي صاغت سبعة مبادئ تهذيبية ضمن إطار البراغماتية العامة. توصل البحث إلى أن التهذيب يمثل مبدأً كونيًا، لكنه يختلف في تطبيقاته تبعًا للثقافات والسياقات الاجتماعية. كما يُعد التهذيب أداة تواصلية جوهرية لتقليل الصراع والحفاظ على الانسجام الاجتماعي. • Abstract: This research explores the concept of linguistic politeness as a fundamental pragmatic and social phenomenon in human interaction. It reviews three central theories: Robin Lakoff’s model, which links politeness to communicative competence; Brown and Levinson’s theory, which focuses on the notion of “face” and strategies for handling face-threatening acts (FTAs); and Geoffrey Leech’s framework, which introduces seven principles of politeness within the scope of general pragmatics. The study concludes that politeness is a universal principle, yet its manifestations vary across cultures and social contexts. Politeness is therefore a crucial communicative tool for minimizing conflict and maintaining social harmony
